Medication Safety

In the framework of clinical studies and health service research our research group is researching methods and provisions to increase the safety of drug therapy in children.

We are currently exploring the influence of an electronic prescribing system (computerised physician order entry (CPOE) system) on paediatric medication safety (AVOID) and develop evidence-based and structured paediatric dosing information for integration in this CPOE (VMobil®).

In addition, we are involved in several EU-funded projects (CloSed, DEEP, ADDUCE, GAPP) investigating the efficacy and safety of drugs used in children. Those projects conduct international, multicenter studies with various drugs used in the paediatric population.

We work closely with physicians and nurses at the children’s hospital, national regulatory authorities, scientific committees and international children’s hospitals and universities.
